Aiguajoc in Eixample (Barcelona)

Aiguajoc is a large municipal sports centre next to the Sant Antoni market, recently renovated with an enlarged, bright fitness room, a new outdoor training area, more equipment and a pool area with natural light and a renewed hydromassage pool. Several members consider it one of the best municipal centres in Barcelona, praising the spacious facilities, the guided classes, the masterclass events and some very friendly instructors. Opinions are, however, split. Long-time members complain about crowding, long queues for machines, the need to book a lane to swim, waiting lists for activities and a booking website that often fails. Others report constant breakdowns after the renovation, TVs not working, missing soap and toilet paper, poorly arranged machines and the removal of the ellipticals, as well as an unfriendly welcome at the entrance and poor help with Urban Sports registration. Good, renovated facilities in a central location, held back by crowding and management.
