CEM Bac de Roda in Sant Martí (Barcelona)

CEM Bac de Roda, in Sant Martí, is considered by many members one of the best-equipped municipal sports centres in Barcelona. It offers a huge gym with a separate strength room and cycling studio, outdoor machines, indoor and outdoor pools, a children's pool, a jacuzzi and dry and steam saunas, plus classes such as reformer pilates and very popular spinning sessions. Members describe it as clean, modern and bright, with warm pool water and steady improvements over the years. Its popularity is also its main drawback: the gym is overcrowded, especially after 6 or 7 pm, with queues for machines and classes that must be booked in advance. Some members regret that floor trainers are not very proactive, that several machines broke down without notice and that aerobic and step classes were removed this season. A complete and well-kept municipal centre, best enjoyed in the morning or outside peak hours.
