CEM Guinardó in Horta-Guinardó (Barcelona)

CEM Guinardó is a large, complete municipal centre with an indoor pool, saunas, jacuzzis, many guided classes and a clean, air-conditioned fitness room with its own water fountain. It is especially recommended for beginners, older people and anyone wanting to combine the gym with swimming, and several class instructors are praised for their energy and motivation. Some members find it rarely overcrowded and well maintained. Long-standing members, however, report declining standards: Technogym machines out of service for weeks, malfunctioning cardio screens, lockers whose keys do not turn and not enough machines, so you often have to wait your turn. Others criticise a monthly fee of around 57 euros that keeps rising, waiting lists, saturated classes, poor soundproofing between rooms and the behaviour of some instructors. A well-equipped municipal centre with reasonable facilities, but maintenance needs to improve.
